Biological Sciences Apucarana, PR. SUMMARY the present work has as objective to investigate the set of knowledge of the academics of the health area of the College of Apucarana (Biological Sciences and Nutrition) concerning transgnicos foods, as for the associated legislation, myths and truths, detaching its curses and benefits. It was elaborated and applied a questionnaire to the pupils of the two courses, with pertinent referring questions to the selected subjects. Of the total of 277 pupils, 73% had participated of the research. Parallel to the application of the questionnaire a bibliographical revision was carried through, with assists of books, periodic scientific and sites related to the subject. This study it is justified for the current importance of if improving the referring set of knowledge, tools and methods to the OGMs in the scope of the biotechnology, so that these information can subsidize these on professionals to the health in the taking of decisions regarding applications related to the transgnicos.
